This is the best notebook ever… E|F Shorts

Chris, February 1, 2023February 1, 2023

It’ll be no surprise to you given my love of all things stationary and productivity related that I have a draw full of never used, barely used and half used notebooks.  I never seem to satisfied with the notebooks I buy or am gifted.  In spite of my love of digital tools and tech, notebooks and pens are very important to me.  My notebooks are where I do my deep thinking.  Over the past 2 years I have had to do a lot of deep thinking, soul searching and reflecting and my notebooks have been a fantastic aid to this. I have found the best notebook ever.

So, here is what I am looking for:

  1. A decent quality of paper.  I like using fountain pens, fineliners or gel pens and I don’t like bleed through.
  2. A good number of pages.  What’s the point in buying a notebook that only has 96 pages in it?
  3. Dotted pages.  I find that plain doesn’t guide my writing enough and that lined or squared ends up being too restrictive and things look messy.
  4. Not ringbound but opens flat (and stays open flat) without having to bend the pages to do so.
  5. A soft cover.  Less important to be honest but a personal preference.

Now, I object in the strongest possible terms to paying nearly £20 for a notebook, which is why I have not gone for moleskins or Leuchtturm 1917s.  Though they would tick all the boxes above.

So, imagine my joy when I discovered this beauty.

The RETTACY Dotted Notebook 2 Pack A5 Bullet Dot Grid Journal.

This is a fantastic notebook that meets all of my requirements.  It sells in packs of 2 and in a multitude of colours (one of the 2 is always black).  It is available in squared or lined options as well.  You can by A5 or B5 size notebooks.  The B5 is obviously larger and I am undecided which I prefer.  They complete with a decent number  of pages too.  The site says 320 but I seem to have a version with 156 so bear that in mind.

A pack of 2 A5’s comes in at £12.99 depending on what colour you order.  Which is just £6.50 per notebook. It goes really well with the other stationary I use which you kind find detailed here.

This is definitely, without a doubt, the best notebook I have ever bought for myself.
